Hey hey, its Friday! And it's summertime, which feels wonderful. We have a neighbor's 1st birthday party, some church things, and literally nothing else planned all weekend- which I love. I'm hoping to get in a longer run one day and finish getting everything ready for our garage sale next weekend (hooray for getting rid of stuff!). Why is it that same basic weekends somehow just seem more fun when its summer? Maybe its the daily trips to our neighborhood pool? Either way, here are some fun things I'm loving this week:
1. This video on the official rules of pre-meal prayers is hilarious! I will for sure be thinking of it the next time I go out to eat with a group.
2. I just signed myself (and the boys!) up for our library's summer reading program. That sounds extremely nerdy, I know. But its a fun way to read a bit more and our library gives a ton of great prizes. It's totally worth looking into if your library has one! Our's has a an online format- so we don't actually have to go to the library to sign up or track our books. (Most have programs for kids AND adults with some great prizes like Target gift cards!)
3. I'm finally upgrading my summer sandals and sneakers (I haven't bought a pair of either for at least two years) and while I was shopping I found that Toms now has the CUTEST options! How cute are all of these?!
4. I've decided to make a new sangria recipe any chance I have this summer and so far this is my favorite.
5. Did you see that this movie is finally coming out next week? I generally don't care about/keep up with movies, but I'm excited to see this one!
Happy weekending!

Happy Friday! Spring temperatures finally hit Indiana this week and it has been as glorious as we all hoped it would be. Nevermind that there's snow coming in three days, today its sunshine-y and warm and we will be scooting our tushes out the door from breakfast until naptime! Spring is amazing like that. Just two days in a row of sunshine, warmth, trees and flowers blooming- and its enough to makes us all forget about 7 months of cold, snow, dreariness, and feeling cooped up.
It's funny, because even though spring just now appeared- we're also gearing up for summer already. Only a few weeks left of our mom's Bible study, Caleb has his end of the year preschool program coming up, and we've already signed for VBS at church! So even if it snows again in a few days, I know it won't stick. Summer has to come eventually!
Have any fun plans this weekend? Justin and I are going on our first date in monthssss. I need to find some ways to hype up the babysitter to Caleb today (maybe ice cream sundaes with her?) because his separation anxiety has been pretty sky high (naturally). But either way, he'll survive and we'll have a chance to be grown ups without kids for a few hours!
Here's what I'm loving around the internet this week:
1. I never buy music, but I actually bought this album this week and can't get enough. If nothing else, listen to this song!
2. We've been leaving the potatoes out, but otherwise I really really love this baked chicken recipe. Super crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. Also, garlic butter green beans!
3. Emily's decluttering challenge. Are you doing this (or any serious spring cleaning)? I'm not really following along, because I've tried to keep up with decluttering over the past year. But I love the heart of it and will probably purge a few spots in our house over the weekend!
4. Simplicity Parenting. I haven't read it yet, but I keep hearing different people talk about how great it is. I don't typically read non-fiction, but when something keeps popping up and seems to line up with what I'm learning or practicing on my own- I pay attention! So it's on my list to put on hold at the library this weekend!
5. My fav photo printing site has a new $5 off coupon! Perfect for getting a head start on Mother's Day gifts.
Happy weekending!

c/o Noonday Collection |
On top of all the family time, I'm DETERMINED to carve out some time to get away and work. I need to get ahead on my day job work, but I'm also dreaming up and planning a new adventure (stay tuned!). Stealing a few minutes here and there at home hasn't been cutting it, so I'm planning an afternoon Starbucks work session. Anyone else have to literally leave your house to be productive??
Oh, and the exterminator is stopping by our house in a few hours to kill all the ants that have decided to invade us. Say what you will about harsh chemicals or whatever magic they'll be using, I WANT THE ANTS GONE. We get them every year and store bought ant baits are usually enough to take care of the problem, but they came with a vengeance this time. So give me all the chemical treatments if it means my toddler doesn't run and scream BUGGIES all day long. Best $150 we've spent all month!
Here's what I'm loving around the internets this week:
1. The Passion Translation. Have you heard of this? I like to compare Bible translations when I'm studying particle passages of Scripture and I love the Holy Bible app on my iPhone includes TPT now- its just a different, amplified way to read the Bible and I like how its given me some new perspective in my Bible studies!
2. A friend sent this HILARIOUS blogpost to our mom's group and I can't. It's so funny!
3. Susie Davis' podcast. It's called Dear Daughters and is different than other podcasts I usually listen to, but in a good way. I always spend days thinking over things she talks about with the wise women she interviews and its a great listen for women of any age who love Jesus!
4. The Selection Series by Kiera Cass. I heard about these books from Sherry (I say that as if we're on a first name basis) and THEY ARE SO GOOD. Pick them up from your library, asap. Seriously
5. My newest art print. Justin's parents gifted us the most generous thing while they were visiting- this print! I've had my eye on it forever and love it even more than I thought I would. It came so fast, fits perfectly in our living room, and is just the perfect way to remind us that 1.) our family is crazy and that's wonderful and 2.) above all, Jesus. Love Jesus.
Happy weekending!
Ps. Anyone up for a Mother's Day gift guide? I'm thinking of putting one together!

How adorable is Caleb's mini Christmas tree with it's single ornament?! |
For lots of reasons, today officially feels like the Christmas season has begun! My moms' group ended the semester this week and had our Favorite Things party last night, we finally have our tree up, its snowing outside right now, and I just sent Justin and Caleb off on their first movie date to see this cute Christmas movie this morning.
Outside of the movie date, we have nothing on the calendar for the entire weekend and it feels so good! I finished all of our Christmas shopping and I'm going to see how the boys do with wrapped gifts under the tree (my guess is they'll try opening them and I'll have to put them away until Christmas morning). Maybe we'll venture out to see some Christmas lights tonight? Christmas time is just extra fun with little kids, so we're soaking up all the things.
Here's some weekend reading for you::
Last minute gift ideas and deals. Have you seen my gift guides? One with ideas under $30, gifts for her, and gifts for little ones. So many of the places I included have deals right now (I promise I'm not getting paid to say that)! May Designs and West Elm have free shipping this weekend, Walk In Love has 15% off, you can get a free Chatbook with this link or if you already have an account you'll get a free gift on January 1st when you order anything this weekend. I didn't include it in my gift guide, but I bought this hoodie as a gift for someone this year and am kicking myself for not buying myself one- and its 40% off right now! If you shop online and use eBates (you should!) they have double money back on lots of sites this weekend. And, while we don't have any sales right now, if you shop Noonday Collection you'll help me reach a BIG goal I have with my business (shop by Dec. 12th for delivery before Christmas!)
Salted Carmel Chocolate cookies. Need a cookie recipe for a Christmas get-together? Try these! Sally is my go-to girl for cookie recipes and I tried these for our Favorite Things party. They were a hit! The carmel inside is such a fun surprise.
Best slow-cooker pulled pork. I'm on recipe kick this week! I made this pulled pork from my new favorite cookbook (its on my Christmas list!) and IT IS AMAZING. I don't think I can't emphasize that enough. Bonus? It's full of real ingredients.
Christmas (or anytime!) DIY. Long story short, I'm currently obsessed with Caravan Shoppe. (they have the most fun digital downloads for parties and home decor!) I bought this holiday pack when it was on sale last week and then made a FUN diy frame (here's the tutorial). You can see how it turned out here.
Jimmy Fallon and Shaq. If you need a good laugh, this is one of my favorite lip sync battles!

Friday. (weekly round-up)
Happy Memorial Day weekend! Doing anything fun? We're keeping it pretty low key and I am way too excited about that. I'm crossing my fingers the weather stays dry/warm so we can break in our neighborhood pool for the season. That and having my family over on Monday seem like two things that officially make it summer break! Our next few weeks are jam-packed, basically right up to our beach trip in July. And I love it! Summer is so so sweet and I'm embracing every bit of its crazy already. Here are some fun things from around the internets this week...
I made this roasted red pepper dip for cooking club this week and it's going to be a new summer staple. You can't mess it up- I subbed cashews for the walnuts and accidentally bought pom-cherry juice and it still came out great.
Guys, the shop the world sale is amazing. My favorite Circlet studs are less than $30!
I'm just really obsessed with Chatbooks (and prints) lately. I was able to get my first book free, and here's a link for you to try it out for free too!
I'm working on getting a house tour blog post ready (more for myself/memory keeping than anything!) and it has me dreaming of this charming lake house tour. So colorful and collected and airy!
I want to put together a fun summer bucket list for our family and I basically just want to copy this one- and add 'go to the beach!". What's on your bucket list this summer??
It's basically summer and we spend so much stinking time outside. Which I love! But it means we're constantly dragging toys in and out of the garage/backyard and I need a better way to control the madness of yard toys, amen? My sister uses these for garage toy storage and I totally want to copy- practical and sort of cute!
I read this book a few weeks ago (couldn't put it down!!) and I'm on the hunt for another great one to read over this long weekend. Any suggestions?
Happy weekending!!

Friday. (weekly round-up)
Enough rambling- here's what I'm loving around the internets this week (and two free things for you because evidently I'm into free things this week!):
// I made these churro cupcakes for our Mexican themed cooking club this week and the were pretty good. The best part? They involved a box mix which meant they felt homemade, but with half the work!
// Did you know that this coming Tuesday (May 2nd) is Teacher Appreciation day? I didn't realize until today! If you need a last minute gift, I'm pretty sure everyone loves a good gift card (and I can send you a super cute printable to toss in a fun card!) Even if you don't need a gift next week, its the perfect time to start thinking of end-of-the-year gift ideas- these are some of my favorites under $40.
// I think I've mentioned this before, but it you want something short but really fun/interesting to listen to when you're in the car, this is my current favorite podcast! I would start with the Patagonia episode.
// My 1SE app reminded me to shoot videos the correct way on my phone and sent a link to this hilarious youtube video about it.
// I just ordered my first week of Hello Fresh and my excitement is borderline embarrassing. Have you tried it? Justin is a picky eater but I found some meals he's going to love! (ps. get your first week basically for free with this coupon)
// I'm probably really, really late to this but a friend told me about GrooveBooks this week and I'M HOOKED. For $3/month you simply upload up to 100 photos from your phone to the easy app and they send you a photo book EVERY SINGLE MONTH. I love that the photos come in book form but are also perforated so you can easily take some out to scrapbook, frame or share. I like this idea for myself to help me consistently get photos off my phone. But it also makes a great Mother's Day/grandparent gift idea to help them get monthly photos for a really, really affordable price. (I got my first book for free because my friend gave me a code. If you want a free one just use code RUSH1984 after you download the app) Ps. If you want a bit higher quality photo printing/gift option, mPix is my most favorite!!
// I was one a big reading kick for a few months and unintentionally took a break for April. Now I'm having the hardest time picking up a book again, so I think I'm going to ease back in with the last in this series (super light, fast reads!).
// When I was working on my goals earlier this week, I kept thinking of this quote. So good.

We are the classiest family in our neighborhood, hands down. |
// Love this independent story about Noonday's very first artisans.
// My kids are really obsessed with these hip hop toddler songs after my sister showed them to us.
// Made one of my all time favorite (and least sophisticated) desserts a few weeks ago and am wracking my brain for an excuse to have it again soon.
// This is just really, really hilarious.
// I stumbled on this blog a few weeks ago while working on content for my part-time job. The cute couple behind it have created the most lovely home! I want to pin everything because her style is exactly what I have in my head for our house.
// Mother's Day is only three weeks away! Here are some of my favorite gift ideas this year.

Friday. (a weekly round-up)
Guys. Spring officially starts on Monday and I can't wait. I have huge plans for Spring and Summer and they 100% consist of our family NOT being sick. While we haven't had anything crazy (I know RSV hospitalizations have been crazy this winter and thankfully we've escaped that), it's safe to say we have (read: I have) reached our capacity for the number of fevers, amount of infant motrin, and canceling full weeks of plans because we're contagious. GO AWAY WINTER GERMS.
On a happier note, it's Friday and (if the fevers break) we're taking the boys swimming this weekend. If their fevers don't go away, it won't be too awful because Justin can help tackle cuddle duty! I also have a full, unopened bag of Reese's eggs in the pantry and a short list of fun projects I can try this weekend while Justin watches basketball. Dear Lord, thank you for weekends!
In case you need some fun weekend reading, here's what I'm loving around the internets this week (including a fun freebie!):
// You've probably seen this viral video, but I'm laughing equally as hard at it's spoof!
// Free stuff! Shop today, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, and get a fun surprise. (see all the details here)
// Really, truly I can't get enough of this show.
// I've been slowing reading through this cute book and I think it would make a great (under $10) gift for a friend or even yourself.
// I stumbled on this blog I used to love and remembered how great it is for inspiration. This post about doable, small DIY is wonderful!
// And this isn't so much a link as it is a little poll. Justin and I are in a rut with shows to watch together. All of our old favorites are becoming SO predictable/unrelatable or just not as funny (Suits, Designated Survivor, Modern Family, etc). Have any favorite shows? We need ideas!
Happy weekending!

Friday. (a weekly round-up)
Hi hi! The sun is shining, its the third day of Lent, and its Friday! Those three things together are just making me smile right now. Spring in general does this to me every year- makes me feel hopeful and excited and sort of like I'm waking up after hibernating all winter. I don't think I would appreciate it nearly as much if I lived in a place without four seasons (but you wouldn't have to pull my leg to live by the beach). And after nearly a full week of potty training (hooray!), I have a night out with my sisters planned for this weekend. Wine, laughs, and NO POOP PATROL. I'll take it!
Here's what I'm loving around the internet this week (with a fun giveaway at the end!):
// I work and do housework during the boys naps each day. Since my part time job is all computer based, its nice to have a background show on at the same time. I'm probably really late to the game, but I just discovered this fun BBC show this week! (available on Netflix)
// I had the hardest time finding Elmer's glue for Valentine's crafts last month and now I know why.
// Justin started Whole30 this week and as a 'farewell, sugar' treat I made our favorite cookies over the weekend.
// Whether you're participating in Lent or not, this podcast is great. Short and great for listening to on your commute to work or while you fold laundry- I love their challenge about reading the Old Testament.
// I'm really excited about the Spring Noonday Collection launch! To keep the excitement going, I'm giving away one of my most favorite (and used) things- a VMP Prayer Journal- to every single person who places an order or books their own trunk show from now until Saturday night! Simply place an order or shoot me an email to book your show (I have some March and April dates open!) and you'll have a fun surprise in your mailbox next week :) Here is the link to shop (or get a head start on Mother's Day and teacher gifts!): http://bit.ly/GalentinesParty

Weekly round-up.
We're tackling potty training this weekend, and the timing seems sort of perfect since the temperatures have dropped outside. It's a great excuse to hole up inside and hopefully not have to clean up a dozen potty training accidents! For some reason, I've really been in the mood to shop lately. That's not like me and unfortunate because I'm sticking to a budget right now. But I'm sharing some of the things I would be buying right now!
// One of my favorite shops for stationary is having a spring cleaning sale and there are so many cute notecards to stock up on. These orange cards!
// Hands down my favorite sign shop is having a BIG and rare sale- 25% off their entire shop (code: THANKYOU25) through tonight only. I AM SO SAD that I don't have money in the budget to buy one right now!
// I love these slip-ons from Target- and the price tag is just right.
// Someone asked me the other day for some Noonday gift ideas that don't break the bank and I was excited to stumble on the Under $40 List- gah, SO many pretty things. If you're looking for a budget friendly but cute gift idea (or just something for yourself!) here are my favorites that are all actually under $20! this bracelet is being discontinued (and I'm so sad bc its my all time favorite!), fancy earrings, colorful bracelets, the prettiest accent cuff, and one of the most popular pieces from our India artisans. Bonus: shop this weekend and you'll have a great chance to win some fun giveaways from the Spring launch. ;)
// I'm on a big reading kick lately and love every book by this author. Fast, easy, mindless reads!
// I've had a serious craving for Mexican lately and this restaurant is my favorite right now. Technically its Tex-Mex, but its for sure amazing. The jalapeño ranch dip!
Happy weekending :)

Friday. (a weekly round-up)
Hey friday! Justin's out of town for a few days on his annual snowboarding trip, so this won't actually feel like a real weekend. The boys both came down with the flu this week, and that, coupled with Justin gone, means lots of movies, Vicks, and snuggling. I don't mind one bit! It's supposed to warm up again here this weekend, and I'm hoping the sun stays out long enough for us to get out and about. I'm holding to my resolve for savoring February, but man, I won't be sad when Spring officially begins!
Here are some fun links for you weekend:

Hilarious and a bit sad- why is America the last one to offer this?
Pink isn't usually my favorite color, but I'm obsessed with these shoes.
One of my friends just open the cutest etsy shop.
After listening to this (SO SO GOOD), I want to buy this new book for every mom I know (including myself).
I'm making plans to put Caleb's room together (we just plopped furniture in there when we moved 6 months ago) and I don't have many ideas. BUT I am in love with this 'awesome' pillow (just not the $40 price tag). SO CUTE.
I feel like I've already shared this before, but we discovered an amazing chipotle chicken cheesesteak recipe.
My kids are so weird. I made sloppy joes from this cookbook last week and they refused to eat them. Isn't it a meal designed FOR KIDS??
Happy weekending! :)

Friday. (a weekly round-up)
Hey, hey Friday. This week has sort of flown by but also seemed really slow. Is that possible? We have zero real plans for the weekend and I'm not mad about it. It's our first since vacation that (hopefully!) no one will be sick or having emergency dental surgery. So I have some wild plans to just clean the house or take advantage of another set of grown up hands to wrangle the crazy kids! In the meantime, here are some links from around the internet this week. Happy weekending! :)
//Caleb's little preschool (it really is the cutest thing) sent home forms for a Otis Spunkmeyer fundraiser they're doing and I'm sort of dying over it. Super cute! It'll be fun to be more active next year when he's in a real class! So if you're in the mood for some cookie dough (or other treats!), I'm your girl for the next two weeks :)
//The news is awful these days. Here are two stories that will make you smile: 1 2.
//I'm obsessed with Beckah Shae. Legitimately good Christian music (not cheesy or slow!)
//Have something you've always wondered about Noonday Collection (why I'm always posting about it? Is it just another direct sales company? etc)? Ask me here! I'm working on a post all about what it is I do with Noonday.
//Caleb doesn't want a ton of TV and we don't have cable, so we're all about PBS and Netflix. We discovered a throwback is on Netflix and he's in love with it, which is great because they're doing a remake!
//Speaking of tough news, if you need some tangible ways to respond with all the stuff going on around the world, look into Preemptive Love Coalition. They approach polarizing current events with acts of love and they are doing good work.

Friday. (a weekly round-up)
Happy Friday! After a date to see Brian Regan last night and another for my sister's annual dinner party tonight, this weekend is already off to a great start. We have the best high school babysitter who literally lives two doors down and it has been a complete game changer! The boys love her (we do, too!) and it is so fun to have more date nights.
I have big plans this weekend to stay up late working on Tyler's Project Life album and finalize the little details for his birthday party next week! And I love it. Going through all of the photos from the last year has been so much fun!
I'm also putting together this years Gift Guide- stay tuned next Friday for it!
// Some of our college friends started a toy company that is both adorable and affordable! (ps. if you sign up for their giveaway here you'll also earn a 25% coupon code)
// I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE GG SPECIAL NEXT WEEK! I'm re-watching the last season right now and finding myself torn all over again between Christopher and Luke. Who are you rooting for?
// One of my favorite accessories holders is on clearance and makes a great Christmas gift.
// I'm in love with this sweatshirt.
// I always love Jamie's gift guides- this year's is no different. (Free Day Popcorn is my favorite this year!)
// Want to mix it up this Thanksgiving? Here are 19 different ways to make pumpkin pie!

Monday.
I read this post by Maggie and found myself saying Oh my goodness, me too. I totally want to do the same!
HI LAR IOUS. I literally lol'd when a friend sent this to me. That Joe.
These are definitely overpriced and I'm sure I could/should just make them on my own, but I am obsessed.
This came in the mail today and I'm excited to see if I can actually pull it off!
I'm usually pretty stuck in my ways when it comes to candles (I have my 3 favs) but I just bought this and am loving the mix of this and this in it. Basically my house smells like Christmas!
Have you seen this show? Justin and I just discovered it and love the different stories!
Happy Monday! Here's to the elections being over and the holidays on their way :)

First, I feel like it's my serious early Christmas-shopping duty to let you know that today is the LAST day to buy this beauty before it goes on backorder until early next year. YOU GUYS. Need the perfect gift for your sister in law? For your daughter? For your bff? For yourself? It's definitely one of those bags that never goes out of style and really truly lasts forever. So seriously, buy one (or two!) today before they're gone for months! And in case you want to see more real life photos of this gem, go here. Even more, want to score a free one for yourself? Host a Noonday Trunk Show! Every show earns free product and the holiday season is the best time to have a trunk show. Email me and we'll get a November show on the calendar!
It seems like Fall officially hit Indiana this week and I love it. Its been chilly the past few days and and we have a pumpkin patch date this weekend (could we be more cliche?). I picked up this book for Caleb, so I'm extra excited to carve pumpkins and talk about Halloween with him! I'm also running my 5k in the morning and feeling a little nervous and a lot excited. I set this goal back in August and it's crazy that I've stuck with it!
What are you up to? Have any big plans? Whatever you're up to, happy weekending!
// It's pretty cheesy and little trashy, but I love this mindless show. The newest season is on Netflix!
// Need the perfect babysitter or teacher or coworker gift? These ornaments are cute and handmade and won't be available after next week! The $12 price tag makes them perfect for buying a few. And you'll have names crossed off your Christmas list before November even starts!
// Yes, yes, yes. Exactly what she said.
// I've been working on rebuilding my wardrobe (two kids and nursing for the last three years...) and have trying to be more conscious of where my clothes come from and who makes them. After a little research, I'm not sure I can shop at Old Navy, Gap. or Banana Republic anymore. "In 2014, 2.8% of Gap Inc.’s factories did not comply with all laws or international standards for child or under age labor. 25.9% did not provide 1 day off in 7. And 10.6% did not prohibit verbal or psychological abuse or coercion." Need I say more?
// Need something to make you smile? Try this.
// This song. So catchy and good!
// I'm in love with this Pumpkin Marshmallow scent!
// I can't stop thinking/planning/dreaming of ways to make this house more 'us' and Sarah is basically my DIY spirit animal.

Saturday. (a weekly round-up)
It's Saturday! Hooray! We have a wedding tonight and, after the last 24 hours of chipping our kitchen countertop, poking a large hole through our new basement drywall, figuring out our couch won't fit into the basement (aka how we damaged the wall...), and learning our handmade and super special dining table is an awkward size and doesn't have a good place in our new house- I am excited to just spend some time with Justin outside of the house and not focused on house things. It's all so materialistic and small in the big picture, but feels a bit frustrating and emotional (in the case of the table) when we're right in the middle of it (aka spending hours moving furniture, breaking things, etc). But! A date night to celebrate two sweet friends and their marriage! I can't wait.
Have you had a good week? Or a long one? Ready for this weekend or is it so busy that you're already wishing for Monday? Hopefully some rest and fun and Fall weather happens for you. And in the meantime, here are some of my favorite links from around the internets this week :) Happy weekending!
// I've noticed lately that I don't really want to have the radio on in the car now that Caleb picks up on so much (and Klove gets old!) so I've added some more kid-friendly music to my phone for us to listen to. This brand new album is made for kids, but honestly I love it. And it has dance along videos! (This throwback and this awesome mix are our other current favs to listen to!)
// I couldn't have said it better myself.
// If you're near the Indy area, this is the perfect family outing/girls night/date night idea!
// Some of my all time favorite art prints to give as gifts are on super sale.
// Need an awesome Christmas gift idea. This AMAZING leather tote is only available for order until OCTOBER 14TH! After that, our artisans have to work to catch up on work lost during the monsoon season.
// And speaking of Christmas, THESE ORNAMENTS! THAT GARLAND!
// I'm not sure I've mentioned it, but I'm running a 5k next weekend and am becoming really excited about it. Progress has been slow and a bit inconsistent, but loosely using this training program has been awesome.

Friday. {a weekly round-up}
It's Friday! And while this week isn't ending at all like we thought it would (at the closing table, finally holding the keys to our new house)- it's still the weekend. And that's something to celebrate, right? Long story short, I'm frustrated/fed up/lacking any excitement anymore about this moving situation. I'd give you the details, but the past 90 days have just been dramatic and weird and unpredictable (no, Realtor, it is actually not comforting to hear you continuously repeat that in all your years you and none of your colleagues have never seen anything as crazy as our situation). But anyways, here we are. Another weekend reserved for moving when in fact we are staying put for a bit longer. So we're on the hunt for some family adventures to tackle this weekend and distract ourselves!
And really, it is ok. Turning on the news or simply shutting of my mind and really being with my kids reminds me of that. Though it has sort of felt like life has perpetually be on hold/in boxes the past three month, this summer has still been full to the brim. Tyler is finally growing a little and is so fun these days. Caleb is hilarious and dramatic and every bit of a typical two year old. We escaped for our first date night in far too long last weekend! We have been able to spend time with friends we don't see often and make plans for a long weekend in Chicago to see more of them. So you know, I really can't complain.
But since it's Friday and I'm feeling wild, why not get back to sharing some round-ups for you weekend reading?
. Courtney Miller does an amazing job summing about how we should respond to all the violence and injustice happening in the news and our communities lately. If you read one thing this weekend, it should be this.
.These are absolutely the epitome of summer.
.need a new book? You won't be able to put this one down.
.need a new show to watch? This one is super intense (the first episode is the craziest), but I'm hooked.
. OMG this may have been the highlight of my week.
.I'm getting closer to my 30th birthday goal (and my actual birthday!)- but I still need your help. Yes, as in the literal YOU reading this. Help a sister out?
. our cooking club had our summer Favorite Things exchange this week and it was maybe our best yet. I'm already wearing this, can't wait to use this in the new house and find a spot for this painted beauty (if we ever move), and I'm saving this to treat myself one night after the boys go to bed. (My favorite thing was a small pack of already-stamped notecards because I'm obsessed with mail right now!)
.Noonday's Fall line launches on August 4th and I'M SO EXCITED. It's so pretty and perfect for Fall and holiday gifting. And! If I reach my birthday goal to just have a huge impact with Noonday this Fall, I'll also make it possible to visit some of our artisans across the world next summer. Um, yes. So read all about how and why and what fun it is to host a Trunk Show and get your friends together to help change the world this Fall!
Happy weekending!
