Weekends.

Our weekends lately have been really good. Like really, really good. We've been packing our days full of trips to the zoo (that membership was our best purchase all year!), weekly family grocery trips, park dates, dinners with friends, minor league baseball, driving past our new house and dreaming of our upcoming move, and just lots of laughing. It's all been super ordinary and wonderful.
Our buyers pushed back the closing on our current house, so we had to push back the closing on our new one and we're feeling extra antsy to just get a move on (ha). These full weekends have been a great distraction from all of those logistics. We start the days early and are at the zoo or grocery store by 9:30am and don't seem to stop doing fun things until bedtime. Caleb is at a really fun age and can communicate so much better with us these days. And Tyler is a trooper at tagging along wherever we go!
I want to get better at taking pictures of these ordinary weekends, because I know in a few years we are going to look back on them fondly. These are the days we'll be talking about for a long time. The kids so keep us on our toes (Caleb is BUSY) and we both let out a deep sigh when they're tucked in bed each night, but we wouldn't change a thing. In so many ways, I am excited for when the boys are in school and I am able to do social work full time again and be out of house and less inwardly focused so much. It is so nice to know that is waiting for me, but for now our family feels so right and it feels so right that I'm home and immersed in life with these kids right now!
