Thursdays with Caleb. {13}

  Notice a theme in this week's photos? We've entered the phase of "I want my mom all the time forever and ever amen'. It's like he's been reading up and knows it's time to start developing object permanence, because this kid is right on track with it.  It started out super sweet and flattering- all the cuddles and reaching for me and stopped cries as soon as he's in my arms. Heart melting. And then I remembered that I need to pee and eat and all the other things that life entails, and phew, have those all become a little more dramatic with this guy. It's really not terrible, just an extremely fake grunt/cry when I put him down or when someone else is holding him but he can hear/see me.
  But anyways, yes. Super attached to me right now. A little less independent play and a lot more cuddling in our chair, babbling and reading books before naps. Aaaaand we may have had our first page from the KidZone at the gym yesterday because someone {coughCalebcough} was over it. Since I know it's a healthy attachment and developmentally appropriate, I'm trying to soak it in. He won't need me like this forever, and Lord knows the middle school age will hit when I'll maybe be the least cool person he knows.
  In other news, he's this close to saying Dada. I've been working on it with him forever and, now that he's making the general da sound, I realized I've never even attempted to help him say MaMa! That's next on our vocab list...
