Lately.

Have you noticed how quiet it's been around these parts lately? If not, you can probably chalk it up to being just as quiet around your parts of the interwebs. What's up with that? Has instagram taken the place of the blog world? How do you feel about that? I'm just not sure about it. I like IG, don't get me wrong. But there's something I love about getting more of someone's story from a blog. More than staged snapshots, you know? Either way, this seeming drift has me questioning the direction of this old thing. Will I keep it going? What will it look like after baby boy gets here? Should I just pack it in and shut 'er down? To be honest, I haven't really landed on any answers yet.
And on that melodramatic note, I feel the need to shake out the cobwebs on this blog. So much baby talk and not much day-to-day stuff. So, let's get back to basics. Like life lately. We just got out of a three-ish week stretch of busyness and while I love those times, I also love the unwinding that inevitably happens after those kinds of stretches. I also find myself struggling to find my footing after too much going on and a couple quiet afternoons alone usually do just the trick. Slow and steady. That's my preferred life operating speed. So, that's what I've been working on most recently. Finding a steady pace after busyness and before the next wave {read: baby} starts up. Oh, and snapping as many pictures of my dogs on my phone as possible to make up for losing all my old ones when I got a new phone last week. Because, you know, I'm obsessed with my dogs.

And now, let's chat. What about you? What have you been up to lately? Is May insanely busy for you? Do you think blogs are on their way out?

I went through similar feelings before I had my first child, also a boy. He's 18 months now, and I just now got back into blogging. When he was born all I wanted to do was be with him, so I let myself do that. Then, when I was ready (and when his sleep schedule was routine so I could plan things again), I got back into blogging.

I've never visited your site but I really like it. I think we are a lot alike and I'll be checking back on here often if that's ok with you! I love your dogs. My dog would be friends with them.

May's are definitely a super busy month. Between work + everyone turning 30, we don't have a free weekend until July! Your pups are more than adorable - keep taking pics! :)

I'm feeling the same way--of course, I'm not preparing for a baby, but I'm waiting to hear back about a possible job for next year! Plus, working two jobs is super time consuming. I feel like when I'm home, I want to spend time with Andrew--so social media is the little bit of interwebs that I get!

P.S. I'd love your address, please. :)
