Just words.

Remember how I mentioned needing lots of margin in my life right now? I'm feeling that more than ever today. I should probably be doing anything other than blogging right now {like cleaning up the trash my dog just got into}, but writing just needs to happen sometimes. Just words, no fluff.
I had my book club girls over last night for a cookie exchange. Totally awesome and fun and low key. But after cleaning up and chatting with Justin, I didn't fall asleep until 11. {cue old lady status...} And I'm paying for it today. I have another fun {and super social} thing on the calendar for tonight and...full disclosure? My gut instinct is to cancel and just stay home. Our weekend is literally jam packed and we head to NYC really early Sunday morning. I'm feeling so overwhelmed and overtired and like I may just be going through the motions and missing a bit of the excitement of all life has for me right now.But I know there is an end in sight. In fact, I have really lofty plans to hibernate for basically all of January. Isn't that the one benefit of cold, winter months?
I've been doing this simple and fun Bible verse exchange and got this little gem yesterday. I'm trying to memorize it and repeat it and not be overwhelmed by right now or my full calendar.

"For I am the Lord your God Who takes hold of your right hand and says to you "Do not fear, I will help you." - Isaiah 41:13

I know I can't be alone in this. We're all so busy this time of year, right? How do you stay afloat the busyness of it all?

December always seems crazy, and I know sometimes I don't always feel like being festive.(Got to get my Grinch on sometimes!)

Follow your gut, and stay home tonight. I know that doesn't seem as fun but like you said you have a lot going on this week/weekend. Catch up on some sleep, start prepacking for NYC, read a little. Enjoy some Katie-time before things get REALLY crazy! I am sure your friends love you and will understand.

Yay the bible verse exchange is working! :) I loved getting that from you! And I'm curious what book your book club is reading! Our book club needs a new one for January.
