Choosing joy: A song.

{If you haven't already, be sure to join in here!}

  Full disclosure? This post is last minute and a little half a&%. But for good reasons! Instead of drafting it after my really long, unproductive day at work yesterday- I decided to log 2 hours at the gym. See that?? I chose joy! Yesterday was bit discouraging, but hey, new jobs are hard sometimes. And instead of throwing myself a pity party, I went for a run and did some weights. {and ran faster than I have in a long time!} So, gold star for me.

  And then this morning, when I guess I could have posted, or at least gotten up to eat breakfast or read my Bible or walk the dogs- I majorly overslept. Because my new alarm clock {remember my goal?} isn't working. The horror! So instead, I busted it to shower and get out the door in 15 minutes. While still managing to pack my gym bag and lunch. Basically, another gold star for me.

  When I got to work and my early appointment called to say they were running late and I was feeling a little ticked that I had rushed so quickly for nothing, I made myself choose joy. By playing this little ditty {yes, ditty}...

   So there's some real life examples of choosing joy for you. And a song that can make just about anyone smile. What have you done to actively choose joy today?

The Whole series:
Day 2. Let's chat.
Day 3. Nouwen's words.
Day 4. A choice.
Day 5. A picture.
Day 6. A quote
Day 7. In marriage.
Day 8. Fake it.
Day 9. A song.

Love that song! (And the cute doggie picture!) I found myself writing a pretty half-@$$ed post at midnight last night about how good it is to rest... Sometimes it's just what you gotta do! :) Yay for choosing joy and rest!
