If there was theme over the last year, it was joy. I talked about it a lot, I practiced it, and I just kept choosing it over and over. Nouwen's quote has been in my head {and on my mantel} since April and has become my unofficial life motto. We have to choose joy {is there really another choice??} and just keep doing that over and over. August 15th always makes me feel extra introspective, and today I just keep coming back to joy. Here's to hoping this next year is just a full of choosing and living with joy as 26 was!

amen sister. Choosing joy is one of life's biggest lessons. I have several friends who keep me accountable to this.
