Up & Doing

All the hoopla of New Year's Resolutions got me excited to start thinking and dreaming of what 2013 holds and the things {big&small} I want to achieve this year. I like the idea of resolutions and there's definitely nothing bad about setting goals. But I'm all about setting myself up for success and not biting off more than I can chew...and year-long, broad resolutions are just that- more than I can chew.
A couple weeks back, Allison emailed me this neat little thing about goals that she put together after doing some research...and I love it.

Isn't it great? And really true. I'm all about setting measurable, attainable, positive, and specific goals.

Sooo...
all that to say, I've decided to follow suit of lots of bloggers {and people in general, really} and set some realistic goals for myself every month.
My motivation is because I always want to be in forward motion, you know? Never complacent or lazy. Well...sometimes. That's what Saturdays are for, right? :)
My favorite Longfellow quote is from his work A Psalm of Life...

"Let us then be up and doing, With a heart for any fate; Still achieving, still pursuing, Learn to labor and to wait."

So...I'm excited to share this week what my 3 goals are for January.
And yes, I realize its already halfway through the month.
Don't worry...I've been working on them since {almost} the beginning of the month.
Every month I track my progress {keep me accountable peeps!} and then create new ones for the next month.
Come back tomorrow to see what I'm working on!
Any guesses?

I liked that little chart. Its so true. I'm not a big new year resolution type, though I like to think of things I'd like to achieve throughout the year, though I never write them down.

Maybe I'll actually take time to think out what my goals are and put them on paper.
