So I posted this awesome tutorial almost two years ago, and decided it was worth the re-do!
I love me some cleaning wipes.
But I seriously hate paying for them.
If your are in the 'organic/non-toxic' cleaning camp...
look away. This post may not be for you.
But if you like cheap, great cleaning products...sit right down and read on!
Name brand cleaning wipes are around $8 for a medium container.
I make my own large container at home for about $2.
Nice, right?!
And it's SO easy.
Just grab your favorite muli-surface disinfectant, a roll of paper towels, and a large container.
I used Lysol, Target papertowels (that tear into smaller sheets), and an old party peanut container.
Classy, for sure.
Start by tearing off all the sheets from the roll of paper towels. Don't get the cheapest ones...they won't hold up well. I either get the kind that tear into small sheets or just end up tearing the sheets in half myself.
Then, stuff those bad boys into your container. They'll spill out the top, that's ok. Sometimes I can't even fit all of them end and have to put the rest in after I've poured in the cleaning solution. Do what works!
Next, measure out your cleaning solution. For every 1/4 cup of cleaner, use 3/4 water. Then adjust that for however much you need. For this sized container, I ended up needing 3 cups total. As you pour it over the paper towels, they will shrink down. Add in any leftover paper towels until the container is full.
Then keep airtight (so they don't dry out!) and clean to your heart's content!

I've heard of cutting the paper towels in half and taking the cardboard out. Then you won't have to tear them one by one beforehand. I love the concept of own wipes. Whether its baby wipes or cleaning wipes!
